Leo D. Gomez, born in Matanzas, Cuba in 1961, grew up in St. Petersburg, FL. He graduated from Stetson University in 1983 with a B.A. in History. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa. He also completed his law degree at Stetson University in 1985, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1986, Florida and U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

Mr. Gomez began his legal career as an attorney for the Law Offices of Stephen L. Rosen, one of the first workers' compensation plaintiff's attorneys in the state of Florida. He then became managing partner at the law firm of Morgan & Morgan and was the first partner in their Tampa office, where he was in charge of the workers' compensation department.

Mr. Gomez is also a Board Certified Civil Mediator, mediating cases involving workers compensation, personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home negligence.

Attorney organizations and memberships include: the Hillsborough County and American Bar Associations, the Association of Florida Trial Lawyers of America, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and Florida Workers' Advocates.
